When I’m tired, it’s either thrillers or graphic novels. When I’m on a day off, it’s non-fiction or heavier contemporary fiction. When I need cheering up, it’s romance. When I’m stressed or having trouble managing my emotions, it’s self-help. This would not have been possible without reading more books at once and it would have been a shame not to develop these bookish affinities and learn how much I enjoy other genres.
